Garden 1 – Indian Camp Daylilies

The Blossoming Journey of Indian Camp Daylilies

What began as a simple trip to buy a couple of daylilies has flourished into a deep-rooted passion—Indian Camp Daylilies. Our journey into the world of hybridizing started with curiosity but quickly grew into an obsession. The excitement of waiting for new crosses to bloom, each unveiling its unique beauty, became an irresistible thrill.

Much of our inspiration and knowledge comes from the generosity of local daylily hybridizers who welcomed us like family. Mary Frank and Phillip Gaskins, along with Mark and June Singletary of Jammin’s Daylily Farm, shared their wealth of expertise and their enduring love for these remarkable flowers. Their mentorship has been invaluable, and we remain deeply grateful for their friendship and guidance.

As active members of the Valdosta Daylily Club, we continuously expand our knowledge and appreciation of daylilies. This learning journey has fueled the growth of Indian Camp Daylilies, allowing us to cultivate a thriving collection. Today, our garden is home to over seven hundred cultivars, and as of 2025, Dave and Regina have proudly introduced seven unique daylily varieties. Additionally, we offer select seedlings that, while not meeting our introduction standards, still showcase remarkable beauty. Each year, we nurture over two thousand seedlings, eager to see what nature has in store.

Nestled on two acres in Nashville, Berrien County, GeorgiaIndian Camp Daylilies is a haven for both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Visitors to our garden will find an extensive collection of raised beds, in-ground plantings, and hundreds of potted cultivars available for sale. The landscape is ever-evolving, with new additions enhancing its charm each season. Adding to the garden’s character, our roosters and hens serve as lively guardians, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere from sunrise to sunset.

Our love for daylilies continues to blossom, and we are excited to share this journey with others. Whether you are an experienced hybridizer, a casual gardener, or just beginning to appreciate the beauty of daylilies, we invite you to visit Indian Camp Daylilies and experience the magic for yourself.

Garden 2 – Kathy’s Daylilies

Bruce and Kathy Fowler’s Garden

Nestled on five acres in Colquitt County, Bruce and Kathy garden is a true labor of love. Their journey together began 16 years ago, transforming former cotton fields, cleared tree lines, and weed-filled areas into a flourishing oasis. Today, they cultivate over 1,500 registered cultivars and more than 500 selected seedlings. Initially, they started with 4,000 seedlings, later reducing the number to 3,000, and now carefully limit them to 1,000 due to space constraints. As of February 2025, they have introduced 91 unique daylily varieties. Their first-ever daylily introduction was aptly named Talquin’s First Lady, and many of their creations carry the Talquin prefix— a tribute to a beloved lake where they once fished before daylilies captured their hearts.

A Garden of Beauty and Serenity: The original entrance to the garden has since been converted into a private drive lined with raised beds of various shapes and sizes. The front beds serve as the official ADS Display Garden, welcoming visitors with an array of vibrant blooms. A newly designed greeting and sitting area provides a warm and inviting space for guests. The main entrance features a gated area where tour buses will enter and park during events.

Beyond daylilies, the garden is a diverse and colorful haven of companion plants. Visitors will find hydrangeas, angel trumpets, butterfly bushes, ferns, knockout roses, amaryllis, coneflowers, irises, and a variety of shrubs in different hues. The landscape is further enhanced by Japanese maples, crepe myrtles, and other ornamental trees.

Scattered throughout the garden are delightful surprises, including wind chimes, spinners, garden art, and statues—each carefully placed to represent Kathy’s daughters and their interests, such as reading and their love for cats. Numerous cozy sitting areas invite guests to relax and take in the sights and sounds of nature. Birds such as bluebirds, martins, cardinals, quail, and doves frequent the space, while hummingbirds and bees bring life to the blooms. Small water features add a tranquil ambiance, offering a soothing retreat for the soul. The garden also boasts vibrant, hand-picked pots strategically placed to catch the eye and brighten the landscape.

A Passion for Hybridizing: Towards the back of the garden lies a dedicated hybridizing area, where Bruce and Kathy focus on developing new daylily varieties. This section is strictly for plants selected for hybridization, allowing them to create unique and stunning flowers. Their passion extends beyond their own work— they love mentoring young enthusiasts in the art of hybridizing.

Recently, Kathy had the joy of teaching her daughter, Kaitlyn Smith, about the business and her deep love for hybridizing. Bruce’s niece, Grayson Pender, also spent a summer learning the craft and has already introduced two new flowers. Another promising young hybridizer, Cody Beasley, a member of the Valdosta Club, has also joined in exploring the process. Bruce and Kathy are always eager to share their knowledge and passion, welcoming any young person interested in learning the art of hybridization.

Welcoming You to Their Oasis: Bruce and Kathy Fowler look forward to welcoming visitors to their breathtaking garden oasis during the 2026 National Convention. Whether you’re a seasoned daylily enthusiast or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of nature, their garden promises a memorable experience filled with inspiration, learning, and the simple joy of being surrounded by flowers and wildlife

Garden 3 – The Wnek Garden

The Jean and Henry Wnek Garden is located in Tifton, GA, three hours south of Atlanta and about an hour north of Valdosta, GA.  South Georgia is an agricultural area known for growing peanuts, cotton, and pecans.  In our garden, we grow primarily daylilies.

Driving down a country road, you’ll see a large white house with a gate.  Once you go through the gate, the garden opens up like a blooming daylily.

The garden is 1.75 acres with over 800 daylilies growing in 20 plus planters.  The daylilies are joined by numerous companion plants placed throughout the garden and our Butterfly Garden.  We have three outbuildings including a family built, old-fashioned general store, and an outdoor fireplace and grilling area.  The general store is full of antiques from another era. If you remember ice boxes, dial phones, and a hand-cranked cash register–you’re likely as old as the owners.

Jean fell in love with growing plants at an early age.  When she was seven, she worked weekends and whole summers in her grandmother’s yard.  She started this garden in 1984, in a field full of red rocks and weeds.  There were only five trees on the site each no more than a foot tall.

Always a fan of how nature takes its course, there was no specific plan.  She just added plants over the years and put them where they looked best. The garden grew and was the location of family weddings, reunions, baseball games, and the grandkid’s playground.  Its nickname became Nana’s Backyard.  It is also where we married in 2012 and I joined the garden crew.

Jean’s main focus is on texture, so there is always something interesting in the garden year-round.  Yet the highlight is when the daylilies bloom.  Her favorite daylilies are the thick ruffled pastels while I prefer the orange and purple flowers.

Together, we’ve been learning about daylilies by joining the Valdosta and Albany GA daylily clubs.  We attend Regional and National meetings to hear from hybridizers and other gardeners.  We must be good students as our garden won the Keep Tifton Beautiful award for April, 2024.

Our garden also features a historical daylily bed (for plants introduced 30 or more years ago), and a bed hosting guest plants.

We are weekend gardeners.  While we certainly admire and enjoy the work of the many hybridizers, we do not hybridize or sell plants.  We simply enjoy them.

Jean and I are honored to be a tour garden for the 2026 AHS National Convention.

Garden 4 – Wynn’s Daylily Garden

Wynn’s Daylily Garden: A Family Legacy in Bloom

Nestled in the heart of North Central Florida, Wynn’s Daylily Garden is more than just a nursery—it’s a testament to a family’s deep-rooted love for gardening. Owned and operated by Gene and Mary Wynn, with the dedicated help of their daughter Jessica Clinard, this family-run business has blossomed into a beloved destination for flower enthusiasts. On busy weekends, the garden comes to life with extra hands from Mandi, Barry, Sonja, Kenley, Maddi, and Barrett, all working together to keep the tradition thriving.

A Passion Passed Through Generations: For Gene Wynn, farming is in his blood. Growing up on his family’s farm, he learned the value of hard work and developed a deep appreciation for the land. His childhood was split between tending crops and assisting his mother at her small grocery store, but his true passion for flowers began with his Mama, watering plants and nurturing her vibrant garden.

When Gene started his own family, he carried that love forward, bringing cherished plants from his grandmother’s yard to his new home. Among these were azaleas and heirloom daylilies—plants that would later inspire the foundation of Wynn’s Daylily Garden.

A Haven for Daylily Lovers: Boasting over 1,000 cultivars, Wynn’s Daylily Garden is home to one of the largest selections of daylilies in the region. Each spring, the family nurtures around 3,000 daylilies in 2-gallon pots, available for local purchase and nationwide shipping.

Jessica has taken the garden to the next level by hybridizing new varieties, adding fresh introductions to the collection in recent years. While the garden initially focused on Bill Munson cultivars, it has since expanded to include plants from many renowned hybridizers.

Beyond daylilies, the garden features an array of companion plants, including hydrangeas, pansies, dianthus, coleus, snapdragons, caladiums, amaryllis, and roses. The diverse flora creates a tranquil sanctuary for birds, butterflies, and visitors alike.

More Than a Garden—A Destination: Wynn’s Daylily Garden is designed to be more than just a place to buy plants—it’s a gathering spot for those who appreciate the beauty of nature. Visitors often find themselves relaxing in the gazebo, enjoying the serene environment during bloom season.

For those who want to linger, the garden offers a screened-in building with picnic tables and fans, providing a perfect space to share lunch or unwind. With restroom facilities and ample space for buses, it’s an ideal stop for gardening clubs and nature lovers looking for a peaceful retreat.

Experience the Beauty of Wynn’s Daylily Garden: Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or simply someone who loves flowers, Wynn’s Daylily Garden offers an unforgettable experience. The Wynn family’s dedication to their craft is evident in every bloom, making their garden a cherished oasis in North Central Florida.

Come for the daylilies, stay for the charm, and leave with a deeper appreciation for this family’s passion for growing beauty.

Garden 5 – Bell’s Daylily Garden

Bell’s Daylily Garden: A Legacy of Beauty & Excellence

The Hybridizer & His Garden: Nestled in the heart of South Georgia, Bell’s Daylily Garden is more than just a display of stunning flowers—it is a testament to the lifelong devotion of Tim Bell and his family. Recognized as one of the crown jewels of the American Daylily Society’s Display Gardens, this breathtaking sanctuary reflects Bell’s passion, commitment, and artistry in hybridizing daylilies.

A Tale Told Through Daylilies: To capture the essence of a visit to Bell’s Daylily Garden, one must embrace a little storytelling. Imagine arriving at the garden dressed in your finest ‘Coat And Tie,’ anticipating a scoop of ‘Homemade Peach Ice Cream’ from a man known as one of ‘A Few Good Men.’ However, Tim Bell is away, off to ‘Valdosta Again’ while ‘Driving Miss Henrietta’ to the tranquility of ‘Besides Still Waters.’

As you wander through the garden, the sound of ‘Little Giggles’ fills the air—his children, ‘Jared Timothy Bell, Jessica Lynn Bell, and Rachel Leigh Bell,’ are enjoying ‘Blueberries And Cream’ and sipping on ‘Sycamore Fruit Punch’ while reciting verses from the ‘King James’ version of the Bible. Their mother, ‘Linda Bell,’ greets visitors warmly, elegantly dressed in an outfit ‘Hemmed In Purple’ and adorned with ‘Egyptian Jewelry.

During your visit, you take advantage of the ‘Blue Light Special’ and purchase two of Tim’s 2020 introductions, ‘Hey Siri’ and ‘Bubble Gum Ice Cream.’ Before you leave, Linda offers you a handful of ‘South Georgia Peaches,’ sending you off with a true taste of Southern hospitality.

It is this blend of warmth, joy, and sheer beauty that makes every visit to Bell’s Daylily Garden feel like ‘A Little Taste Of Heaven.’ It is a place where nature’s artistry meets the love and dedication of a man whose hybridizing efforts have turned his garden into what many call the “Daylily Disneyland” of South Georgia.

A Garden That Grew With Passion: Located just outside Sycamore, Georgia, a short drive from Interstate 75, Bell’s Daylily Garden has grown from a small collection to one of the most celebrated gardens in Region 5. Tim Bell’s journey began in 1982 when he received 106 daylily plants as a gift from a distant relative. That simple gesture ignited a passion that would flourish over four decades, leading to the creation of a 5-acre nursery, with 3 acres dedicated as an official American Hemerocallis Society (AHS) Display Garden.

By 1986, Tim had begun shaping the garden, developing beds that stretched from his house to a tranquil pond, which he constructed a year earlier. Visitors, drawn by word of mouth, soon discovered this hidden gem, enchanted by the breathtaking landscape. The experience of strolling along the brick walkway, surrounded by vibrant daylilies and leading to the serene pond, leaves a lasting impression.

In 2010, a particularly memorable moment unfolded as Tim walked that very path with then AHS President Mary Collier Fisher. The beauty of the garden moved them both, reinforcing the notion that true goodness is found in the harmony between nature and the heart.

The Legacy of a Master Hybridizer: Tim Bell’s first official AHS-registered daylily, ‘Lottie Moon,’ debuted in 1995, marking the beginning of a legacy that continues to grow. His dedication to hybridizing has resulted in an impressive collection of stunning cultivars, each a reflection of his meticulous craftsmanship.
But for Tim, success is not the final destination—it is the foundation for the next great achievement. His garden embodies the pursuit of excellence, a principle that fuels his passion and ensures that every visitor experiences something truly remarkable.

A Rainbow of Happiness: To know Tim Bell is to understand that his joy stems from doing what he loves. His passion radiates through every bloom in his garden, creating an atmosphere of pure happiness. Visitors are not just greeted with stunning daylilies but with an experience that uplifts the soul.
Bell’s Daylily Garden is more than just a nursery; it is a beacon of inspiration, a place where nature and passion intertwine to create something truly magical. It is a legacy of color, warmth, and dedication—one that will continue to bloom for generations to come.

Garden 6 – Garden’s On Gordon

Jay Funderburke & Jamie Cook

Three years ago, we made the big move to Adel Georgia.  We settled into an old house right in the middle of town. As we began to sketch out ideas for our landscape, we kept coming back to the town’s motto: Welcome to Adel, Georgia – The City of Daylilies. That simple phrase struck a chord, and before long, we were off on a mission to embrace the rich gardening heritage that had rooted itself into the towns slogan and find our first daylily.

But when we started searching for daylilies, we quickly discovered that they weren’t as plentiful in town as the name suggested. What we didn’t know, though, was that we had found ourselves in the middle of Georgia’s Daylily Country. The surrounding daylily communities were deeply rooted and ready to share their bounty.

Our journey led us to join the Valdosta Daylily Club. We had no idea there was such a thing as a daylily club. But as we soon found out, joining the club was more than just an opportunity to swap gardening tips, it was the beginning of lifelong friendships and our love of the Daylily.

Less than three years after our first daylily, our compact little corner lot became our daylily utopia, we’ve managed to collect over 800 different cultivars. But it’s not just about the daylilies. We’ve surrounded our daylily blooms with plants that complement them beautifully.

Our little piece of Southwest Georgia has become more than just a garden—it’s a testament to the rich tradition of southern horticulture and a reminder that the best things often start with a little curiosity and a whole lot of patience. Welcome to Gardens on Gordon.
